Conrad starts online tech community

Conrad Electronic has started its online own community. On a subdomain of its online shop consumers and other interested people can get in touch with others. Conrad’s goal with the community is to become the preferred point of contact for tech fans online. By writing blog posts and making how-to videos people can share their wisdoms.

The Conrad Community is only a few weeks online, but already there are several questions & answers, HowTo’s, presented startups & innovations, topics and contests. Or as the German consumer electronics retailer says: “From now on you can expand or spread your specific technical knowledge in the community. Create posts, become a product tester, take part in polls or present your ideas as a startup.” The website is in German and in English, but the submitted content is only in the language the respective contributor has used.

Deleting content is not possible
Users should take in mind they cannot delete their contributions. As is explained in the FAQ: “Questions, answers, comments, articles and HowTo’s cannot be deleted or retrospectively edited. You should therefore consider beforehand exactly what you want to publish online.”

It’s evident that Conrad doesn’t want to hard-sell its products. It focuses solely on consumers who are seeking helpful information and the ones who want to share his knowledge with other “tech brains, startups and geeks”.

Conrad Gruppe is an internationally operating group of companies and operates in 17 European countries: Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Austria, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, Slovenia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Hungary, Poland, Italy and Romania.
