Foodpanda acquires several Eastern European food delivery companies

Foodpanda seems to be very hungry! After acquiring businesses in India and Mexico recently, it now takes over three food delivery startups in Central Eastern Europe. The online food ordering marketplace has acquired Donesi.com, Pauza.hr and Netpincer.hr. It’s targeting market leadership across Central Eastern Europe.

It’s only weeks ago that global online food delivery marketplace Foodpanda acquired TastyKhana in India and PedidosYa in Mexico. And now it wants to be market leader in Central Eastern Europe after taking over Donesi.com (Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia & Herzegovina), Pauza.hr (Croatia) and NetPincer.hu (Hungary). It’s already certain that, at least for now, the first two companies will continue to operate under their own brand.

Central Eastern Europe is an important food delivery market
According to co-founder Ralf Wenzel, Foodpanda has always been focusing on Central Eastern Europe as one of the most important food delivery markets. “The recent acquisitions strengthen our leading position and will allow for an even better and more comprehensive offering to our customers.”

Foodpanda, Delivery Hero, GrubHub, Just-Eat and TakeAway.com are among the major brands in a global race to help takeaway restaurants reach local customers via online food ordering.
