German ecommerce organizations Bevh and BVOH partner up

The German E-Commerce and Distance Selling Trade Association (bevh) and German Federal Association of eCommerce (BVOH) have announced a strategic partnership, in order to represent the interests in online trading even more effective.

The cooperation is intended to create synergies, broaden the network and to make the members’ high potential for innovation as well as the high professional competences in the respective areas of the associations more accessible, BVOH explained in the press release.

‘The voice of our industry is getting stronger now’

Bevh and BVOH want to coordinate their press activities and public relations with each other, cooperate with regards to market data as well as work together in other fields. “With all the diversity, there is a great deal of consensus amongst retailers in many core issues that affect ecommerce”, says Christoph Wenk-Fischer, CEO of Bevh. “The voice of our colorful and vibrant industry is getting stronger with the cooperation we agreed to today.”

The two associations agreed the cooperation will take place with the respective identity of Bevh and BVOH and both associations will preserve and respect their different focuses in addition to the common priorities. “There are enough German and European things we can work on, such as sales restrictions, data protection regulations, ElektroG, Payment Directive (PSD2) or geoblocking”, says Oliver Prothmann, president of BVOH.
