The first Mobile Innovations Awards were presented

The Mobile Innovations Award is a new award show for the EMEA region, to celebrate the enormous growth and innovation in mobile technology. Last week, the awards got presented in the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane, London and we have the full list of winners.

“New mobile technologies are changing every aspect of the way we do business and live our lives and the pace of development is only set to increase.  These new Awards are being launched to pay tribute to those companies pushing the boundaries of what’s possible using a mobile device”, the official website says.  The awards were being presented in partnership with McIntosh Media and Partner Events, who already staged the Loyalty Awards and the Card & Payments Awards. So this event was only a matter of time.

Awards, awards, awards…
The award for Best Integration of Mobile in an OmniChannel Strategy was for De Beer and SOMO, a company that launched the interactive ‘For You, Forever’ iPad app. This is an in store service that invites clients to have their diamond engagement ring individually crafted for them. The award for Best Use of Gamification on Mobile went to Dansk Supermarked. The largest retail company in Denmark used mobile based gamification in its Big Christmas Game, to close the gap between digital marketing and physical retail sales.

The winner in the category Best Use of Mobile within a CRM Strategy was Sainsbury’s. Together with IMImobile (that won three awards this evening!) they let customers to link their Nectar Card account to their mobile identity. The award for Best Use of Coupons and/or Vouchers via a Mobile Device went to i-movo, thanks to its Secure Digital Voucher, a single payments solution with a limitless range of applications.

The award for Most Innovative App for Payments went to Jumio and its Netswipe. This service turns customer’s smartphones into a credit card scanner that accepts and validates cards. Best Mobile Wallet turned out to be PayPal, while O2 (and -again- IMImobile) went home with an award for Best Use of Mobile for Customer Service. They got this award thanks to its real-time customer service #TweetServe.
