Zalando opens fulfilment center in Italy

Zalando has opened a new fulfilment center. Its latest distribution center is located in Italy, in Nogorole Rocco, near Verona. The site will serve customers in Southern Europe.

The new fulfilment center of Zalando is built in Italy, but will serve not only customers from Italy, but also those in (parts of) France, Spain, Austria and Switzerland. For the site, Zalando has partnered with logistics company Fiege, which will run the fulfilment center with a team of up to 1,000 people.

‘Important milestone for Zalando’s fulfilment network’

Last week, the first parcel was shipped from the fulfilment center to the Italian city of Cassino. It contained a women’s winter jacket, Zalando revealed. Riccardo Vola, Director Southern Europe and Gift Cards at Zalando, calls it an important milestone for the company’s European fulfilment network.

Italy is an attractive market, with passionate customers and a fast-growing online segment.
