In the special box, which costs 25 pounds (28.77 euros) there are 22 everyday foods and essential household items, “and a few treats too”, to help out the Brits who are now staying at home to fight the coronavirus pandemic.

Soup, rice and toilet paper

In the box there’s place for tinned soup, rice, pasta, antibacterial handwash and toilet paper. The parcel, which weighs approximately 14 kilos, will be delivered at the door with full contactless delivery.

Limited to 1 per customer, per week

The food parcel is limited to 1 per customer, per week. “Our delivery promise is 3-10 days, however, we will try to prioritize this order so you can get it as fast as possible”, the supermarket discounter explains on the special website.

Special buys

It’s the first time that Aldi has sold groceries online in the United Kingdom, outside of its ‘special buys’. These are “a whole range of amazing things with incredibly small prices online and in store”.
