Berlin Brands Group to invest €250 million in acquiring Amazon brands

Berlin Brands Group has announced today it will invest 250 million euros for the acquisition of ecommerce brands that sell on Amazon. It plans to spend this money over the next 18 months.

And the goal of all this is to become the number one in Europe for ecommerce brands. Berlin Brands Group currently has 14 own brands, with which it sells more than 2,500 products online.

M&A team addresses ecommerce companies

Since November last year, the merger & acquisitions team of Berlin Brands Group has been addressing companies in household appliances, home & garden, sports, and consumer electronics sectors with sales between 500,000 and 30 million euros. So far, six online brands have been acquired and negotiations with several other companies have advanced.

Six brands have been acquired since November.

Berlin Brands Group claims to be the only one in the market with currently 100 channels to offer a wide variety of sales channels. “Worldwide, we are one of the top sellers on Amazon.”

‘This opens up opportunities for emerging brands in Europe’

According to founder and CEO Peter Chaljwaski, the investment will open up great opportunities for emerging brands, especially in Europe, where the ecommerce market is particularly fragment and Amazon has a comparatively small market share of only about 10 percent. “We will gradually bring each brand to additional markets and channels. We will also expand the product range, together with our teams and supplier network”, he explains.

By the end of 2022, the company wants to bring many successful online brands together under one roof. These retailers can decide for themselves whether they want to devote themselves to new projects after the sale or whether they want to continue to develop their brand at Berlin Brands Group.

Acquiring brands that sell on Amazon is popular

In November 2020, a similar company, Razor, raised 25 million euros to acquire and scale brands that sell on Amazon. Previously, Heroes did the same, although this company raised 55 million euros for its M&A business. Don’t forget to check out our extensive list of Amazon seller acquisition companies.
