Carrefour rolls out 400 pickup lockers across France

Carrefour has announced that, across France, it will roll out over 400 automatic lockers for picking up parcels. The locker network is the result of a partnership with Pickup, a subsidiary of the La Poste group.

Starting in September, customers of Carrefour in France can find the new pickup points in several Carrefour stores and store formats, namely hypermarkets, Market stores and convenience stores. The lockers can be found at the entrance of a store, enabling customers to pick up Colissimo or Chronopost parcels they ordered from any one of the 10,000 ecommerce websites that use the Pickup network.

Carrefour: ‘lockers can be used completely secure’

Carrefour explains that the lockers can be used completely secure. “They can only be opened with a unique code communicated to the parcel recipient, there is no queue and the whole operation is contactless.” Customers can also use the lockers to drop off parcels that they want sent between two drop-off/pick-up points.

There’s no queue and the whole operation is contactless.

“We are delighted with this announcement. It’s evidence of just how well the services provided by Carrefour and Pickup can work together, benefiting consumers. We want to get closer to our customers through our regional coverage, providing them with services that make their everyday lives easier”, said Jean-Baptiste Prévoteau, head of In-Store services for Carrefour France.
