Fashionette just launched its new platform for luxury fashion. Fashionette AG is a German data-driven ecommerce group for luxury fashion and goods. The platform is a result of a collaboration with The Platform Group, with which Fashionette plans to merge.

Overstock is a big challenge in the fashion industry. German startup Smatch has recently launched a B2B platform to tackle this problem. Retailers can offer their excess stock for sale through the platform. Currently, the platform is active in the textile sector, but it wants to add other sectors soon.

Fasanara Capital, a UK-based institutional asset manager is launching a fintech fund of 1 billion euros together with credit insurer Allianz Trade. The fund will target the B2B ecommerce sector. By doing so, it will boost the sector’s growth.

Ukrainian company MacPaw, is planning to launch its iOS app subscription service Setapp in Europe next year. By that time, the Digital Markets Act (DMA) will have come into effect in the European Union. This allows users to install third-party apps on iOS, without using Apple’s App Store.

Ecommerce giant Amazon has opened its first fulfillment center in the Netherlands. With the new location, the online marketplace will be able to deliver Dutch orders faster. The launch is part of a collaboration with Dutch logistics company Bleckmann.

Zalando launches a body measurement feature to assist customers in the DACH region in finding their right size. They receive size advice based on their measurement by taking two pictures of themselves. With this tool, size-related returns should be reduced.

The Spanish fashion brand Desigual is introducing its first on-demand collection. The garments can only be ordered online, starting with the Spanish domestic market, Germany, France, and Italy. The items will only be produced after they are ordered.

Alibaba is taking a major step in its international push. The Chinese ecommerce giant is introducing Tmall in Europe, starting with Spain. Michael Evans, president of Alibaba, announced this at the Viva Tech conference in Paris, France.

Global fulfillment platform ShipBob is expanding to the Netherlands with the launch of a fulfillment center. The new fulfillment center is the company’s fifth European location. The company expects to start shipping parcels from the new location in July.

German fulfillment company for DTC ecommerce brands, Alaiko, is launching in the United Kingdom. With its solution, the company wants to help British brands scale domestically and across Europe. In order to do so, they are partnering with a local state-of-the-art fulfillment center.
