Leading ecommerce platform Shopify is shutting down its dropshipping extension, Oberlo. Sellers who want to use the app to fulfill their dropshipping business via AliExpress can no longer find it in the App Store. Shopify is transitioning to another dropshipping solution developed by DSers.

Leading ecommerce software company BigCommerce is integrating with dropshipping marketplace Avasam to launch its new dropshipping service: ‘Click2Launch’. It will make BigCommerce an even bigger competitor for Shopify.

As of today, Dutch shipping software provider Sendcloud integrates with Mirakl Connect. The integration allows for easier selling on platforms and fast, flexible delivery. Marketplace sellers can now manage all their shipments in one place.

Polish marketplace technology and service provider Nethansa has launched its new SaaS platform, with which it is ready to expand within Europe. The company is already active in the Czech Republic, Germany and Great Britain as well. The platform wants to integrate with several marketplaces in the coming years, including Allegro.

Marketplace solution provider Mirakl has realized a recurring revenue of 87.44 million euros (100 million dollars) in 2021. The company is now valued at 3.1 billion euros. To support its growth, the company expects to recruit 400 new employees this year.

Ecommerce software provider Shopware has announced that it has raised 87.54 million euros in growth capital. The capital injection will be used to accelerate Shopware's product innovation and to expand into new markets. The investment comes from global investment firm Carlyle and PayPal.

BigCommerce has announced that it will expand its presence into Germany, Spain and Mexico. The news follows the company's launch into France, Italy and the Netherlands six months ago. Retailers in these locations will now be able to integrate locally preferred payment methods in their online store.

Ever since the outbreak of the coronavirus, ecommerce has grown significantly. An indicator of that growth is the number of online stores on platforms like Shopify. Between March 2020 and January 2022, the number of stores on Shopify grew with 201.53 percent.

Shopify has revealed its new Payments Platform. It's a way to integrate third-party payment gateways into Shopify Checkout, so merchants can add them as payment options for their customers. The payment gateways can be created as Shopify apps.

Website builder Wix has acquired dropshipping platform Modalyst. With this acquisition, Wix wants to offer its own ecommerce supplier marketplace as well as an integrated dropshipping platform for white-label product fulfillment.

Wish has announced a two-year partnership with ecommerce software provider PrestaShop. Merchants using this software will be able to quickly sell to consumers on the Wish marketplace. A integration module on the PrestaShop platform syncs their products and orders between PrestaShop and Wish.
