De Bijenkorf launches in France

Dutch department store De Bijenkorf has launched its online shop in France. In February this year, word came out that the omnichannel retailer was looking to expand its business across Europe by opening a French ecommerce website.

De Bijenkorf has launched the French online store under the same name it uses in the Netherlands (“De Bijenkorf” means “the beehive”). The online shop can be visited at debijenkorf.fr.

Back in February, job offers posted by De Bijenkorf revealed that the Dutch company was looking to open its digital doors in France soon. One day later, the retailer officially confirmed the upcoming launch.

Expansion across Europe

France is not the first foreign market where De Bijenkorf sells clothing, home & decor items, consumer electronics, and more. The company also launched dedicated ecommerce websites in Belgium and Germany. And the next market is also known: De Bijenkorf will launch an online store in Austria. But it’s unknown when exactly this will happen.
