Delivery platform Seven Senders raises 33 million euros

Seven Senders, a German delivery platform for parcel shipping, has concluded a Series C financing round of 40 million dollars (33 million euros). The company wants to use the money to further support Chinese and US online retailers with their business activities in Europe.

Just like in the previous financing rounds, lead investor was Digital + Partners, which invested together with venture capital firm BTOV.

Helping online retailers from China and the US

Seven Senders says it wants to use the capital for further technical expansion as well as advancing its internationalization strategy. It wants to use central service hubs that can help online retailers from China and the US to set foot in Europe.

The Berlin-based company is very focused on cross-border shipping and thus it has profited significantly from the expansion of ecommerce in Europe in the last year. The company saw its revenue double since March 2020 and has opened new country offices in Amsterdam (the Netherlands), Vienna (Austria) and Madrid (Spain).

The company is focused on cross-border shipping.

Two months ago, the delivery platform also introduced a solution for shipping parcels to the United Kingdom so goods travel smoothly post-Brexit.

Growth strategy pursued

“Over the last year, we have consistently pursued our growth strategy. Thanks to investment in technology and employees, we were able to help our customers cope with the enormous increase in demand for online retail in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic”, founder and co-CEO Johannes Plehn says. “We will continue to use this positive market development and expand our services, with a view to including dealers outside the European Economic Area. We are approaching this development with full focus.”

The Seven Senders platform uses a network of over 100 local parcel delivery agents to optimize the shipping process for traders throughout Europe. It offers monitoring, tracking and communication throughout the shipping process, and customers include Asos, Shop Apotheke, Lillydoo, Mister Spex, Juniqe, Flaconi, Westwing, Best Secret, Foodspring, Limango and Thomann.
