Deutsche Post DHL Group and Austrian Post have agreed to work together in last-mile parcel delivery in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Austrian Post’s subsidiary In Time will be Deutsche Posts’s parcel delivery partner in Slovakia, while the latter’s subsidiary PPL CZ will be Austrian Post’s delivery partner in the Czech Republic.

The complicated partner swap will begin next month. From then, In Time, owned by Austrian Post, will deliver the parcels that are sent by DHL customers to Slovakia, while PPL CZ, owned by Deutsche Post DHL Group, will deliver the parcels that are sent by Austrian Post customers to the Czech Republic, which is the fastest-growing ecommerce market in Europe.

No impact on other DHL activities

Deutsche Post DHL already collaborated with Austrian Post in Austria and after that happened to be a success, the two logistics companies decided to further use each other’s network in Europe. In an official press release, Deutsche Post DHL emphasizes that the agreement will have no impact on the business activities of DHL Express, DHL Global Forwarding, Freight and DHL Supply Chain in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
