DSV builds Europe’s largest logistics center in Denmark

Logistics company DSV plans to invest about 270 million euros in a new logistics center, which will become Europe’s largest with just one leaseholder. The new site will cover 700,000 square meters.

The reason for a new logistics center is that the current facilities in and around Horsens (a city in Jutland, Denmark) can no longer DSV’s present and expected growth. But as it wants to consolidate its warehouse and cross-docking terminals in this area, the Danish company has decided to build a new, future-proof logistics center.

Europe’s largest logistics center

According to the logistics company, it will be Europe’s largest logistics center with only one leaseholder. The office will cover 18,000 square meters, the cross-docking terminal will occupy about 50,000 square meters and the warehousing facilities will comprise between 200,000 and 269,000 square meters.

Warehousing facilities will comprise between 200,000 and 269,000 square meters.

“In DSV, we focus on growing our business. As part of our growth strategy, we want to consolidate all our activities within Air & Sea, Road and Solutions in one location to ensure that our operations are efficient and that we provide the best possible solutions to our customers”, managing director Simon Galsgaard commented.

“Furthermore, Horsens is a strategic hub for transports between the Nordics and all other European countries. We also want to retain our many talented employees and with this new development we maintain our connection with the city”, he added.

Construction completed in 2026

DSV expects to break ground in August next year and to begin occupying the facilities at the end of 2022. The new logistics center in Horsens is expected to be completed during 2026.
