FC Barcelona launches online Barça Store

FC Barcelona has launched its own ecommerce channel for the sale of products from the Barça Store at Camp Nou. In the online store, fans will find club merchandising and retail items. There are also items that can only be bought at point of sales managed directly by the club.

The new ecommerce channel is part of FC Barcelona’s online retail strategies, complementing its own point-of-sale network. The soccer club is determined to expand its retail business, both in Spain and abroad.

First Spain, then the rest of Europe

The new online store opened last week for sales throughout Spain, but plans are to gradually expand this to other countries in Europe in the coming months.

Aside from the standard football kits and merchandise, one of the surprises in the online store is the ‘Gallina de piel’ collection in homage to Johan Cruyff. Until now, these items could only be purchased in person at Camp Nou Barça Store in Barcelona.

Gallina de Piel (Johan Cruyff)
Cruyff once caid ‘Gallina de piel’ (meaning ‘skin chicken’) when he tried to say the Spanish word for goosebumps (‘piel de gallina’).

Regaining control over its merchandising rights

Since 2018, FC Barcelona has been trying to regain control over its merchandising and retail rights. Previously, these were in the hands of a Nike-owned company called FCB-Merchandising. FC Barcelona has now directly taken over the management and operation of the business.

Network of official points of sales

FC Barcelona now has a network of official points of sales that are managed entirely by the club. These include the stores at the Camp Nou, Canaletes, Passeig de Gràcia, La Roca Village, and Terminal 1 and 2 at Barcelona Airport.
