Francisco Partners acquires Consignor Group

Consignor Group, a Nordic delivery management software company, has been acquired by Francisco Partners. The private equity firm pays 1.5 billion Norwegian kroner (almost 140 million euros) for the deal. Founder Peter Thomsen will continue as CEO and a 30 percent shareholder in Consignor Group.

Thomsen founded Consignor in Oslo, Norway in 1997 after he brought software solution Winedi to the market. The software streamlined the transport of goods by automating the transfer of shipment data. Ten years later, Winedi was replaced by the delivery management platform Consignor. Before 2016, the company was known as EDI-Soft.

Accelerate development organically and through acquisitions

And now, after 23 years of ownership by Thomsen, the Group has received backing from Francisco Partners. “Consignor has built a software business with an enviable market position and a strong customer base”, commented Petri Oksanen, Partner at Francisco Partners, who will join the Consignor board. “We are excited to support the team as they embark on this next phase of growth with an eye to accelerating their development both organically and through acquisitions.”
