French ecommerce site Cdiscount launches in Belgium

Cnova, the ecommerce division of Groupe Casino, has announced the expansion of its online store Cdiscount.com to Belgium. The leading ecommerce player in France was already active in Colombia, Thailand and Vietnam. Now it expands its services for the first time in Europe by delivering its goods to Belgian consumers.

Cdiscount.com will now deliver to inhabitants from Belgium and thus meet he growing demand of many internet users in the Northern European country. All orders will be shipped from France, but customers can choose how they want their goods to be delivered when checking out. Customers who don’t want their orders shipped to their homes can get their goods at one of 545 Kiala pick-up points that are present in Belgium.

Delivery of parcels (-30 kg) happens via TNT and is done in less than two days. Home delivery for heavier products, like refrigerators and sofas, happens via a team of carriers authorized by Cdiscount.com. The online store accepts payments wih Visa, MasterCard and PayPal.

One of the leading ecommerce players in France
With 1.98 billion euros of gross merchandise volume in 2013, Cdiscount (including its marketplace) is one of the leading ecommerce players in France. Earlier this year, three new websites were launched under the Cdiscount brand in Colombia, Thailand and Vietnam.

In May of 2014, Groupe Casino announced the creation of an ecommerce platform which combines businesses of Cdiscount and Nova Pontocom.
