H&M opens online store in Spain

Swedish fashion retailer H&M has opened the doors of its online store in Spain, although it’s somewhat later than expected. First, plans were to launch the H&M online store in June, but eventually it had to be delayed until August. Another interesting thing is orders can be placed by all Spaniards, except those who live on the Canary Islands.

But we have to be honest, that’s not something we really can blame H&M for, as the Canary Islands are a pain in the ass for ecommerce companies operating in Spain. So, this logistics issue the Swedish firm has yet to resolve.

H&M is making the Spanish website directly accessible to mobile browsing, giving the site a responsive and adaptive design for both smartphones and tablets. Native apps will follow later, the Spanish news website ecommerce-news.es reports. The Spanish H&M online store also inclused home decor section H&M Home. Yeah, that’s just as Zara, the fashion store from Spanish retail gigant Inditex, offers Zara Home.

H&M in Spain
“We are excited about the arrival of H&M online to Spain this fall, something which our customers were eagerly awaiting. In addition to offering our fantastic collections for the entire family, thanks to H&M Home, our customers now have access to the latest items in decor, the best quality and H&M prices”, says Doris Klein, CEO H&M Spain and Portugal.
