Jeftinije.hr launches marketplace service

Croatian price comparison platform Jeftinije.hr has launched a new service: Jeftinije Marketplace. In addition to comparing prices from different sellers, the marketplace allows consumers to buy these products directly from the platform.

Jeftinije.hr is one of the largest online platforms for comparative online shopping in Croatia. It’s part of the Heureka Group, which is active in 9 countries. According to the company, it has 23 million monthly users and a network of 55.000 partnered online stores. Online businesses can now start selling their products on the platform and reach the Group’s audience.

Fierce competition

“Being an ecommerce player these days is becoming an increasingly demanding job. The ad costs are growing exponentially, and the competition is fiercer than ever. But at the same time, users are becoming more and more demanding. Getting a user on your site, handling logistics and delivery while at the same time providing a top-notch user experience might be just too much for a sales-oriented team of an average online shop. Here is where marketplaces are of great help, namely, they will handle many of the above-mentioned jobs”, explains David Čreslovnik, CEO of Jeftinije.hr.

Experience and data from Heureka Group

To launch the marketplace, the Croatian platform was able to use the digital framework that the Heureka Group is already using for its other online marketplaces. Domestic partner sellers will be able to sell in the other countries where the group is active as well.

‘Marketplaces represent more than 10% of our GMV.’

“We are bringing the marketplace to Croatia to open cross-border possibilities for local merchants. Currently, marketplaces represent more than 10% of our GMV and we expect for this percentage to grow significantly within the next two or three years”, said Michal Vodak, the COO of Heureka Group.
