LePrix launches in France

Wholesale marketplace for secondhand luxury goods LePrix is launching in France. It is originally from the US and is now starting European expansion. “The demand for pre-owned luxury goods in Europe is surging”, says General Director Camille de Vregille.

The wholesale ecommerce B2B platform launched in 2019 in the United States. On the platform, retailers can find pre-owned luxury goods. The owners founded LePrix because they wanted to enable designers and vintage stores to launch ecommerce channels quickly. The marketplace launches over 150,000 new products on its website each month.

Launch in Europe

Now, the online marketplace is making its way to Europe with a new office in Paris. “The demand for pre-owned luxury goods in Europe, home to most of the world’s top fashion houses, is surging. For brands and retailers, it is clear that the circular economy is a huge business opportunity and sustainability is a necessary initiative”, said de Vregille.

‘We look forward to offering European retailers access to a supply chain for pre-owned products.’

“It is the path to entering the market that, until now, has been obscured by too many barriers. With this launch, we are helping clear the way. We look forward to offering European retailers access to the world’s supply chain for pre-owned products.”

‘Scalable solution’

In addition to connecting retailers to suppliers, the platform also has solutions to simplify logistics, customs, authentication and payments. According to the company, many online retailers are interested in selling secondhand luxury goods, but cannot get access to a large supply of products. “By uniting the entire value chain in a single platform, we are providing a scalable solution to source pre-owned inventory”, said Elise Whang, CEO.
