Login and Pay with Amazon now available in Europe

Businesses in Europe can now let customers pay online using Login and Pay with Amazon, a payments feature of Amazon. This way, customers can go from browsing to buying in just a few clicks. They don’t have to create an account on third party sites anymore to complete a purchase.

Login and Pay with Amazon, now available in Europe

Pay by using your Amazon account
On websites that have implemented the Login and Pay with Amazon option, customers can pay by using their Amazon account. “It provides a fast, convenient and secure purchasing experience and we are excited to introduce the service to our European customers,” says Annemarie Jung, Director External Payments Europe at Amazon Payments Europe. “Businesses in Europe can now streamline the customer account creation and payment process on their website with the backing of a brand consumers know and trust.”

Login and pay options like these of Amazon are about to gain more popularity, as consumers are sometimes getting irritated by all the mandatory registration pages whenever they want to buy something online. According to a survey conducted by Redshift Research, about one in four consumers (27%) said they would be likely to abandon their basket if the payment process took longer than 10 minutes. And six in ten consumers (61%) would abandon their shopping cart if it took over minutes. The optimum time for completing an online transaction was under two minutes for over half of respondents.

Customer check out time reduced
There are already European websites that have implemented the Login and Pay with Amazon option. AllSaints for example has seen a reduction in the time it takes a customer to check out by approximately 1 minute and 10 seconds ever since they made Amazon’s payments option available. And within the first few days of being live, 24% of all online sales were made via Login and Pay with Amazon. The online conversion rates increased by 34% in the US alone, while in the UK specifically, there was a 15% higher average online order value versus other alternative methods or wallets.

Other sellers that provide the Login and Pay with Amazon service include Secretsales.com, Moss Bros’, Printed.com, Overclockers UK, FulhamBrassOnline, Paddock Spares in the UK and Engelhorn, Babyartikel, Moebelisten, Klimaworld and Hirschel-Cosmetic in Germany.
