PayU extends cooperation with Google Pay

Online retailers that use the services of PayU can now offer Google Pay in their ecommerce websites and mobile apps. Two years ago, the Polish payment service provider was also chosen as a partner for Google to introduce its payment method Google Pay to Poland.

In November 2016, Google launched its own payment system, then called Android Pay, in Poland. That was quite surprising, as the Eastern European country was only the second market in Europe where consumers could use this payment method to make mobile contactless payments.

Active in six European markets

Now, online retailers that cooperate with PayU in Europe can now offer Google Pay as a payment method in their online stores or mobile applications.  In Europe, PayU has local operations in Russia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Turkey.

No need to create accounts on every website

“Thanks to Google Pay, users in Poland and Europe no longer need to create accounts in every new application or website. Paying is easy and frictionless, even during the buyer’s first visit, wherever the Google Pay logo is visible”, says Florence Diss, Head of EMEA Commerce Partnerships at Google.

Customers who want to pay for online purchases using Google Pay, need to save their card details to their Google account. This can be done on Pay.google.com or by using the Google Play app. After this, paying online happens just by clicking on the Google Pay logo and approve the payment with the selected card.
