Posti invests €100 million in growth

Finnish postal and logistics service provider Posti will invest over 100 million euros in its growth. The company follows a new strategy, which is all about parcels and flows of goods. It wants to focus more on parcel traffic and logistics in Finland, Sweden and the Baltics.

The logistics company has announced it will invest more than 100 million euros, so it can accelerate its strategy execution and improve the customer experience. The money will be used to develop parcel and ecommerce competencies and to strengthen its delivery network.

Posti will use the money to further strengthen its delivery network.

Parcel traffic in Finland, Sweden, and Baltics

“According to our new strategy, the core of our growth is parcel traffic and logistics in Finland, Sweden, and the Baltics. To support this, postal services in Finland will play an important complementary and supporting role”, the company explains.

37 million euros invested in a new warehouse

The millions of euros will go into the expansion of its parcel locker network, developing digital capabilities, and growing its sorting and distribution capacity. “In addition, we announced last week that Transval, part of Posti Group, would be investing 37 million euros in a new warehouse”, CEO Turkka Kuusisto adds.

Posti says its goal is to become a modern delivery and fulfillment company. “We create new value for customers by covering and optimizing the ecommerce logistics value-chain from transport to warehousing and from sorting to delivery.”

Posti wants to become a modern delivery and fulfillment company

Last year, parcel volumes in Finland and the Baltics (Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania) increased by 27 percent. Kuusisto says his company successfully managed to meet this demand and scale profitably. “I am convinced that we have everything that is required to build a bright future for Posti. But the next few years will be very demanding. Competition in the parcel segment will be fierce, and several companies are taking advantage of their strengths and focusing on major cities. To meet these demands, we are continuously developing our services to improve speed, accessibility, and to provide convenience and ease for our customers.”
