Redcoon quits in Germany

Redcoon has ceased operations in Germany. Anyone who visits the electronic retailer’s website, gets the suggestion to visit the website of MediaMarkt. Products that are ordered through redcoon.de, will still be delivered to the customer, and MediaMarktSaturn promises to continue to meet all service requirements.

With Redcoon leaving the German ecommerce market, the brand is now only available in Poland. In December 2014, the online store also quit operations in France and Denmark after five years. Back then, Redcoon was still available in eight countries across Europe, but during the last four years, the electronic retailer left one market after another.

Acquired by MediaMarktSaturn in 2011

Redcoon got acquired by the MediaMarktSaturn Retail Group in 2011 in order to further expands its online activities in Europe. After seven years, it seems that the online shop can’t compete with the group’s other brands, Media Markt and Saturn.

New start

In the spring of last year, Redcoon was offline in Germany for a short time, but the company made a new start in May, stating redcoon.de will be fully integrated with the infrastructure and system landscape of MediaMarktSaturn.
