PostNord invests significantly in parcel boxes in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland. The logistics company wants to have more than 12,500 of its own parcel boxes in the Nordics before the end of 2022. And after that, investments in additional parcel boxes are planned.
Online shoppers from Denmark can now return their parcels by putting the box in a parcel locker from SwipBox. Logistics provider Bring, the international unit of Norway Post, is the first to offer this return service via the parcel locker.
Zalando has expanded its pre-owned online store Zircle to Scandinavia. Customers in Sweden and Denmark can now also buy pre-owned fashion via this online platform. And there’s a very logical reason for this specific expansion to Scandinavia.

Online supermarket Nemlig has launched its largest geographical expansion in Denmark. This week, and in the coming weeks, Nemlig.com will open new delivery areas in Jylland, Fyn, Sjælland and Nykøbing Falster. The supermarket also introduces a delivery method where customers no longer need to be at home.
Recently, SwipBox has seen a significant increase in the utilization of its parcel lockers in Denmark. This is, of course, due to the Covid-19 lockdown. An extra useful feature of the parcel locker is that there’s no screen installed, so users don’t need to touch anything but their own phone.
Ecommerce in Denmark is forecast to be worth 21.45 billion euros by the end of 2020. This would mean an increase of 10 percent, compared to the situation at the end of last year.
Ecommerce continues to drive growth for PostNord. The Swedish logistics group delivered just over 50 million parcels in the fourth quarter of 2019. And for the full year, B2C volumes increased by 10 percent compared to the year before.
Goodiebox, a beauty subscription box from Denmark, has acquired Bette Box, a Finish startup that also sells beauty on subscription. For Goodiebox, the acquisition means its first out-of-company investment.
Omoda, a Dutch omnichannel shoe retailer, is expanding in Europe. After it opened online stores in countries nearby, the company is now ready to expand to Scandinavia. This year, an online store in Denmark will open and next year, Sweden, Norway and Finland are next.
Miinto, an ecommerce fashion platform from Denmark, has received over 130 million Swedish kronor (12.2 million euros) from both existing and new investors. The company announced the news together with the fact that sales increased significantly. Miinto still isn’t profitable, though.
PostNord and Swipbox have started with the rollout of an extra 2,000 parcel lockers across Denmark. Over the next six months, the Nærboks lockers will be installed, after which Danish consumers can pick up their parcels 24/7.
