The UK dominates European E-Commerce Awards

Winners of the European E-commerce Awards 2013 have been announced. Asos, John Lewis and Vestiaire Collective have been rewarded with gold awards at the ceremony that took place on the eve of June the third in Barcelona.

National associations in European countries like France, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK held e-commerce award ceremonies. These national winners have been invited to the Global E-commerce Summit to compete on a European level in three different categories.

The French ecommerce company Vestiaire Collective is the winner of the Entrepreneurial Award. The second prize was for the Dutch company Coolblue and bronze was for the Danish Unisport.dk. “These Awards honour entrepreneurial excellence in the European e-commerce sector, recognizing those companies that make a positive contribution to the development of online retail, digital innovation and improving the customer journey”, says jury member Marc Lolivier.

Asos was awarded with the gold Cross-Border Award, while Zalando won silver and Amazon went home with bronze. John Lewis was awarded with a gold Multichannel Award, while Marks & Spencer won silver and Burberry won bronze.

With two golden awards and one silver prize, it seems clear to us that the United Kingdom is the uncrowned king of the European ecommerce industry.
