Troy UK launches order hub and store builder

Engineering distributor group Troy UK has launched a new B2B2C platform. The platform, called Troy Commerce, allows members to procure products from the Order hub, but also enables them to design their own ecommerce stores.

For over 30 years, Troy has been providing support, procurement services, and product knowledge for their 350 members in the United Kingdom. After Troy acquired THS Tools in 2018, the group was in a strong position. It used this to invest in a new platform.

Troy UK partnered with Mercarto Enterprise, a Manchester-based platform software provider, to build a new B2B2C platform. The goal was to streamline procurement operations while offering greater choice for their members. Now all of their supplier data has been aggregated and standardized into one platform via API.

Data hub for every transaction

The ecommerce platform, which is called Troy Commerce, lets members navigate through their own dashboard to procure products from the Order Hub. But Troy Commerce also operates a data hub for every transaction taking place on the platform. “This allows the buying group to predict buying trends and analyze customer behavior, thus enabling them to deliver a more optimized, data-driven and personalized experience to members”, Mercarto explains.

Online store builder included

In addition to the order hub, Troy Commerce also offers a drag-and-drop online store builder. This allows members to design their own ecommerce stores. Members can customize their stores, add custom merchandising and pull products from the Order hub. Product data descriptions and images are included, so they don’t need to manually photograph every product they have in their physical stores.

An extra feature of the hub is that Troy’s members can also replenish their online shop with products they don’t have in physical stock. These products will be fulfilled by Troy’s warehouse facility.
