Turkish ecommerce platform Trendyol wants to expand in Europe

Trendyol, one of the largest ecommerce companies in Turkey, has plans to expand in Europe, including the United Kingdom, Italy, and Spain. The expansion plans will happen with a new website.

Trendyol is an online marketplace for clothing, decoration, and cosmetics. In Europe, the ecommerce company wants to shift the focus on clothing away from companies such as Zara and Mango. One of the ways Trendyol wants to achieve this is with its own in-house brand Trendyolmilla.

Available in 27 markets

If the expansion has taken place, the online store will be available in 27 markets across Europe, Hürriyet.de writes. For now, the expansion is set to the United Kingdom, Italy, and Spain. Later on, they want to conquer consumer markets in France, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Finland.

Trendyol Group

The company was founded by Turkish tech entrepreneur Demet Mutlu in 2010. Among the company’s shareholders are Kleiner Perkins, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and Chinese ecommerce giant Alibaba.

The Group also consists of research & development center Trendyol Tech, delivery network Trendyol Express, and second-hand goods platform Dolap.
