UK: Amazon Logistics named best carrier 2021

Amazon Logistics has won the top spot in MoneySavingExpert’s (MSE) annual UK parcel delivery poll. It’s the first time that Amazon Logistics is considered the best carrier by consumers in this poll. The company replaces last year’s winner DPD Local.

Last year, new warehouses spaces in the UK grew with 60 percent. This shows that ecommerce has been rapidly increasing within the country, with carriers doing the same. For its annual poll, MSE asked users to rate their experience of parcel delivery firms they used in 2021. The poll was carried out in early January 2022 and received more than 9.000 responses from readers.

Amazon Logistics was voted as the best parcel carrier, replacing last year’s winner DPD Local, which now came in third. DPD UK remained in second place for the second year in a row. Additionally, 5 out of 17 firms received better ratings in this year’s poll.

CitySprint received the lowest rating (12 percent), while its predecessor Hermes dropped down 2 places to 16the place. Yodel remains in the bottom three for the seventh year running.

‘Tough year for parcel carriers’

Chris Newlands, news and investigations editor at MSE, commented, “There’s no doubt that this past year has once again proven to be very tough for parcel delivery firms, especially with some staff forced to self-isolate. But sadly, we continue to hear of missing, late, damaged and dumped parcels – so it’s important for consumers to use their rights and vote with their feet when firms don’t deliver the goods.”
