Verifone opens office in Belgium

Verifone, an American provider of technology that enables electronic payment transactions, has today announced it will open an office in Brussels, Belgium. From here it wants to offer platforms and solutions for secure online payments to customers in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.

Verifone Benelux will be led by Pierre Orban. The new appointed general manager has worked at financial institutions like JP Morgan Chase, Deutsche Bank and BNP Paribas Fortis. “I’m very happy with the opening of our new office and putting together a team of ecommerce experts”, he says. “This industry is on the brink of a rapid development. Thanks to this new location we can also offer our local customers an excellent service.”

Growth of electronic payments in Europe
“There’s not only a strong interest in our platforms and payment solutions”, says Jean-Philippe Niedergang, vice president of Verifone Southern Europe, “but in Europe we also observe a dynamic growth of e-payments. Opening an office in Belgium is an import step that emphasizes our determination to better meet the needs of our local customers, in order to position Verifone as a market leader in the Benelux and Europe.”

One of the solutions Verifone Benelux offers its customers is Paybox. This multi-channel platform accepts all forms of payments and is meant for several industries. It currently processes payment flows of over 35,000 merchants and 120 million transactions per year.
