Webshop Trustmark launches in Germany and France

Online store certifier Webshop Trustmark is launching its seal of approval for webshops in Germany and France. In its home country the Netherlands more than 4500 online stores are a member of Webshop Trustmark. The organization’s goal is to protect consumers against webshops that aren’t reliable.

Webshop Keurmerk was founded in 2001 in the Netherlands, but it changed its name into Webshop Trustmark this summer, when it expanded its business internationally for the first time, by launching the trust mark in Belgium.

Webshop Trustmark will expand its service further
Webshop Trustmark says it has noticed there’s an increasingly growing demand for a trust mark and support in other countries. “A couple of months ago we started with launching our certificate in Belgium and now it’s already the biggest online store trust mark.” Webshop Trustmark has also announced it will operate globally and as a result it will start its service in Germany and France.  “In the short term we will introduce our service in other European countries as well as outside of Europe.”

Webshop Trustmark’s service is called Webshop Gütesiegel in Germany and Webshop Label de Qualité in France. There are already online stores who have applied for the service, but the company first have to check if they meet all the requirements before these stores can put the Webshop Trustmark badge on their website.

Whenever an online store is a member of Webshop Trustmark, it means it complies with all kinds of (legal) rules established by the organization, and that customers can trust this shop while shopping online, without fearing any scammers. The applications as well as complaints from customers get reviewed by local jurists. The online stores will be reviewed again from time to time.
