Whistl acquires Relish

Logistics company Whistl has acquired Relish, a product sampling specialist. For now, Relish will remain as a standalone brand. Thanks to the acquisition, Whistl can expand its range of channels available to customers.

Last year, Whistl announced that it would open three new fulfillment sites within the UK. According to the company, it makes a revenue of over 802 million euros. Whistl operates across the UK and handles over 3.6 billion items a year. It doesn’t only handle items for large online retailers, because last year it also launched a service for online retailers with low volumes. These retailers get the opportunity to send their parcels to customers with a wider range of delivery options, including 24 and 48 hours services.

Broader portfolio of channels

Now the logistics company announces an acquisition of a product sampling agency, specializing mainly in the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors, Relish. Relish was founded in 2011 and enables brands to reach consumers by matching them with partners, for example by placing a sample for a perfume brand within an online fashion delivery.

“Product sampling plays an important role within the marketing mix and with our market leading expertise in targeting and campaign planning, particularly for online retailers and FMCG brands, the addition of Relish will enable us to broaden our portfolio of channels available to advertisers”, said Nick Wells, CEO of Whistl.

‘The acquisition highlights Whistl’s expertise.’

According to the CEO, the acquisition highlights Whistl’s expertise and ability to help brands across the whole ecommerce journey. Now, Whistl can help brands in targeting their customers, while also fulfilling orders and manage deliveries.
