Wildberries expands to US
Online retailer Wildberries from Russia has announced the launch of its website in the US. This marks the fourteenth country where the ecommerce company is present.

Consumers from the US can now buy over 5.5 million items from more than 40,000 brands through the separate online store us.wildberries.ru or through the mobile app. Wildberries features all kinds of products, from clothing and beauty products to consumer electronics and books.
“The online platform brings together entrepreneurs and retailers from different countries, such as Russia, Germany, France, Poland, and many others. We are open to expanding cooperation with American entrepreneurs, including small and medium-sized businesses, whose products are already represented in many Wildberries markets”, said Vyacheslav Ivaschenko, Development Director at the Russian ecommerce company.
Many online stores opened in Europe this year
The company was founded by Tatyana Bakalchuk in 2004 while she was on maternity leave. Last year, it managed to increase its sales outside of Russia by 95 percent to over 261 million euros. Among foreign customers the most popular items are clothing, beauty, books and shoes.
