Asendia acquires eShopWorld

Asendia, the joint venture of La Poste and Swiss Post, has acquired eShopWorld. Asendia has been the majority shareholder of this ecommerce software solution since 2017.

eShopWorld, which has its headquarters in Dublin, will remain a stand-alone entity after the acquisition is completed. The current management will also stay the same.

The acquisition is the latest step in Asendia’s strategy to make cross-border ecommerce easy and reliable. With the ecommerce software of eShopWorld it wants to support retailers to grow their ecommerce business internationally.

Asendia’s strategy is to make cross-border ecommerce easy and reliable.

Services in 200 international markets

With eShopWorld now fully owned by Asendia the ecommerce software provider can accelerate its business expansion and further build on its technology and logistics capabilities for global brands. It also ensures it can increase its global footprint and revenues along with talent recruitment, enhancing its services in 200 countries across the world.

‘Coherent, strategic choice to acquire eShopWorld’

“eShopWorld makes it easy for global brands to have a local presence. Additionally, its focus on making ecommerce frictionless, regardless of location, made it a coherent, strategic choice to make them part of the Asendia family”, CEO Marc Pontet explains.

Tommy Kelly, founder and CEO of eShopWorld, also commented: “This is a significant endorsement of our growth, sustainability and success in embracing the structural shift in favor of online shopping.”

eShopWorld expects to double its turnover over the coming years. Last October, it announced that its revenue was worth approximately 1 billion euros. Over 500 people work for the Irish ecommerce software company.
