Cards are most popular online payment method in Sweden

Payment cards are the most popular payment method among Swedish ecommerce customers. A new study points out that more than half of Swedish consumers (54) percent prefer to use their card when they are ready to pay online. Another popular payment method in Sweden is invoice, which is used by 28 percent.

These are the major results from a survey by Novus and commissioned by MasterCard. This survey also shows that four out of ten people in Sweden have, at least once, refrained from shopping online because they didn’t have their payment card with them.

Reasons to use cards

As said, more than half of Swedes prefer to pay online by card. The main reasons for using this payment method is that it’s quick and easy. One in three Swedes choose this payment method mostly because of safety.
