Shopify and Nosto have today announced a global partnership, which provides Shopify’s client base of over 120.000 retailers worldwide with access to recommendations and personalization features within minutes. Nosto is a Finnish company that has built a plug-n-play recommendation engine, enabling customers from online shops to have a personalized shopping experience.
In a reaction to this website, Nosto claims to be the fastest-growing personalization solution in Europe. It works with over 1500 retailers, including Lush, Björn Borg and Bauhaus. The company is reported to increase on average the conversion rate of customers clicking on its recommendations by 65% and average order value by 25%.
Now Nosto is partnering with Shopify, which powers over 120,000 online stores worldwide. Shopify’s customers who use the Nostro app will get access to advanced and automated product recommendations, real-time analytics and several personalization features. With Nosto, retailers can, for example, display items the customers has previously viewed, but not bought. They can also display hot sellers, add a visual breadcrumb trail and display alternatives for the viewed product.
Juha Valvanne, Nosto’s founder and CEO, is thrilled to be working with Shopify. “It finally enables Shopify retailers to benefit from personalization technology which has been proven to significantly impact online store performance, but which has until now been out of their reach.” Shopify retailers can download the Nost app in the Shopify App Store.
Nosto was founded in Helsinki in 2011 and the company now operates from offices in Berlin, London and Stockholm. In April 2013 it closed a €2.2 million seed round with backing from Open Ocean Capital, SanomaVentures and a number of indisclosed angel investors.
