Dostavista rebrands to Borzo, raises €30 million

Dostavista, a same-day delivery service from Russia, today announced that it has changed its name to Borzo. This way its businesses in ten different countries are united under a single brand. As part of its growth strategy, Borzo also raised 35 million dollars (29.95 million euros).

The money was raised in a Series C funding round and included investors like Mubadala, VNV Global, and RDIF. With these millions of euros, the company previously known as Dostavista wants to strengthen its international position under the new brand, while developing new products.

Borzo offers crowdsourced same-day delivery

The Russian company, founded in 2012, enables same-day delivery via any route, any transport and with any weight or size. Customers can request a delivery on the Borzo website or app, after which a courier will pick up and deliver the requested item.

Borzo wants to strengthen its international position.

“We at Borzo always believed on-demand delivery will become a new normal as it is beneficial for all parties involved and we’re glad it’s happening”, founder Mike Alexandrovski says. “With the new round closed we continue to move toward our goal of becoming one of the top courier delivery companies in every market we operate in. To achieve this goal we believe it’s important to ensure operational synchronicity and integrity of the company’s brand perception, and that’s why we rebranded it to Borzo.”

Active in ten different countries

Borzo has a rapidly expanding customer base of 2 million users, with 75 percent being small and medium-sized businesses. The company’s business has been doubling for five consecutive years and the company is active in ten different countries, including Russia and Turkey. With more than 2.5 million couriers who can deliver items, the same-day delivery company fulfills up to 3 million orders per month.
