Square launches Online Store solution in UK

Payments provider Square has announced the launch of Square Online Store for sellers in the United Kingdom. This allows small and medium-sized enterprises to sell both online as offline, with a free starter plan.

Square says the online store solution is the first of its products in the UK to be fully integrated with website building platform Weebly, that was acquired by Square last year. Square Online Store comes with a free plan, so no monthly subscription fees are required.

Companies that want to use the ecommerce software can also make use of different tools and features, such as shoppable Instagram galleries, shipping and -instore pickup. The software solution is developed with both omnichannel and online-only players in mind. It offers for example extra functionality to restaurants.

‘Sellers should be able to reach buyers on any channel’

“It’s crucial that sellers are able to reach their buyers on any channel, whether in person, online, or in apps”, David Rusenko, head of ecommerce at Square, comments. “With Square Online Store, we’re excited to integrate Weebly technology and bring the Square omnichannel experience to everything, from retail businesses to restaurants.”
