Argos now offers same-day home delivery across the UK
Argos has announced it offers same-day store collection and same-day home delivery for nearly 20,000 products across the United Kingdom. It says it’s the first retailer in the UK to do this. Argos was also the first to launch click & collect 15 years ago and it already had a nationwide home delivery service in 1999.

Argos calls the same-day home delivery service Fast Track. If a product is eligible for same-day delivery, it’s clearly shown on the product page. When a customer decides to purchase a product, he can choose to either collect it from a local store or schedule a same-day or next-day delivery slot.
Getting the order delivered the same day costs 3.95 pounds (€5.37) and is available for seven days a week, so including Sundays. Customers will be able to order by 6 PM to have an item delivery by 10 PM the same day. It’s also possible to buy online and collect from Argos’ dedicated Fast Track counters in-store. Fast Track Collection is free.
The launch of the Fast Track delivery and Fast Track collection services are said to be possible due to improvements the British catalogue retailer has been making during the past two years. It improved its stocking, distribution and digital systems and has been testing Fast Track for several months now. The reactions of customers were very positive, so Argos now decided to roll out Fast Track nationwide.
Fast Track for online Christmas shopping
“As customers increasingly shop from online and mobile shopping channels, they are increasingly sensitive to the speed and cost of obtaining their products”, John Walden, CEO of Argos’ parent company Home Retail Group, says. “We hope Fast Track will help UK consumers this Christmas and make their seasonal shopping speedier and easier than ever before.” Argos says it has created new jobs for 3,300 Fast Track Delivery drivers and up to a thousand drivers are currently being recruited for the upcoming Christmas seasons.
