DHL Parcel offers preferred delivery time in Germany

DHL Parcel offers millions of parcel recipients in Germany the possibility to arrange a preferred delivery time for any DHL shipment in future. This is regardless of the online retailer’s shipping offering. For now, the new service costs 1.99 euros per parcel.

Online consumers in Germany already were able to use the preferred time option for shipments for which online retailers offer the service as a shipping option in their shops, but soon DHL Parcel will introduce the option to book a preferred time for any DHL shipment.

€2.99 for preferred delivery time

At the end of the introductory period – it’s unknown how long this will take – consumers need to pay 2.99 per shipment to make use of this service. DHL Parcel starts the service by offering recipients in twenty German regions the opportunity to book an evening delivery within a three hour window, from 6pm to 9pm. It’s expected the service options will be extended gradually.

The parcel service provider says it’s the only one in Germany that offers this kind of service. “We want to further align the delivery of parcels with the needs and wishes of parcel recipients and thus make life easier for them”, CEO Achim Dünnwald says.
