Lengow opens its doors to the B2B market

Ecommerce automation platform Lengow has opened its door to the business-to-business market with its integration of Amazon Business in the UK and Germany and Cdiscount Pro in France. With the integration, business sellers now have access to the three largest ecommerce markets in Europe.

Lengow has been working with over 3,600 online retailers trading on the B2C market since 2009, but is now responding to new market trends by also giving online retailers the opportunity to trade on Europe’s biggest B2B marketplaces.

With the new partnership, there are not only new distribution channels for online retailers, but it also offers several business advantages, such as wholesale prices, quotation management and payment terms. “By offering access to the B2B market, we are enabling our clients to reach a new audience of B2B buyers”, says CEO Mickael Froger. “Retailers who choose this new option will be able to sell on B2B marketplaces with ease and at no extra cost.”

Integration of Amazon Business and Cdiscount Pro

For now it has partnered with Amazon in the UK and Germany and Cdiscount in France, but the company has said it will continue to build further partnerships with other B2B platforms. Amazon launched its B2B marketplace Amazon Business in 2015 as a replacement for AmazonSupply, while Cdiscount Pro was launched in 2008 by Cdiscount to meet the needs of businesses.

Popularity of B2B ecommerce

B2B ecommerce is, according to Forrester, expected to exceed 1 trillion euros by 2020 on the US market alone. The B2B ecommerce market in the United Kingdom was valued at about 114 billion euros in 2015. Expectations are business-to-business ecommerce will, driven by online marketplaces, account for almost 30 percent of the global market by 2020.
