Shoppers increasingly search for UK fashion brands

International consumers are increasingly interested in UK-based fashion brands. The number of online mobile searches for UK brands from non-EU countries increased by 13 percent year on year in the first quarter of this year. Within the European Union, Italian consumers are most interested in UK-based fashion brands.

Compared to the same period last year, the number of searches from Italian consumers grew 31 percent in the first three months of this year. This is shown by research from the British Retail Consortium (BRC).

Fashion show highest growth in search activitiy

BRC looked at which online product categories experienced the highest annual growth in online search activity and fashion ranked first. Beauty saw the highest growth for non-EU searches, with a 22 percent increase in the first quarter of this year.

“Online retail search activity maintained its growth trajectory into 2018 reflecting a continued consumer trend to shop online”, CEO Helen Dickinson commented. She thinks online retail search activity will keep growing, because retailers continue to invest in improving their online offering for consumers.
