These 5 EU countries are most ecommerce-ready

When does a country have a lot of ecommerce potential? Is it about population size, income per capita or the amount of money online spent? It’s all of these and a lot more variables that characterizes a ecommerce market primed for growth. Forrester compared 55 countries, and of the 10 most ecommerce-ready markets, there are 5 European countries: UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden.

In its Readiness Index: eCommerce 2013, Forrester looked at different variables to determine which countries present the biggest immediate to near-term ecommerce opportunity. It looked at several variables e.g. the number of debit/credit cards per capita, market activity and intensity, the population’s tech-savviness, et cetera.

According to Forrester these countries present the biggest immediate to near-term ecommerce opportunity:
1. U.S.
2. China
3. Japan
4. South Korea
5. UK
6. Germany
7. Netherlands
8. Norway
9. Singapore
10. Sweden
