Bike24 enters Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg

German bicycle e-tailer Bike24 is launching in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. The company already had localized online shops for Germany, Austria, France, Italy and Spain. Bike24 says the company now reaches 70 percent of the European market.

Bike24 is an online retailer from Germany offering bicycles as well as cycling, running and fitness gear. The company shared the news about its Benelux launches today.

‘Most bike-friendly region’

Bike24 now has localized online stores for Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. According to co-founder and CEO Andrés Martin-Birner, the Benelux is ‘probably the most bike-friendly region in Europe’: “Amsterdam, Utrecht and Antwerp are among the cities worldwide that offer the best infrastructure for cyclists. Therefore, we see high growth potential in these countries.”

8 European markets

Bike24 aims to be a market leader in the Benelux.

The online retailer already had localized online stores for Germany and Austria. Recently, it also launched in France, Italy and Spain. This makes for 8 European countries in total. Last year, the Southern European branch increased revenue by 160 percent. According to Bike24, the company now reaches 70 percent of the European market.

“BIKE24 already has a high brand awareness in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg due to its proximity to Germany”, says CEO Martin-Birner. Bike24 says it aims to be a market leader in the Benelux in the medium-term.
