Dutch T-shirt startup Girav launches in Germany

Girav, a Dutch startup specialized in extra long T-shirts for men, is going abroad. The ecommerce company has opened an online store in Germany.

The company was founded by Erik de Weerd in 2010, after he – 1.96 meters long – couldn’t find nice T-shirts in his size. He always had to fall back on XXL shirts, even though the width wasn’t satisfying.

More than long T-shirts

The idea turned out to be a success, with 15,000 orders and a revenue growth of 30 percent last year. Aside from T-shirts, Girav now also sells poloshirts, sport shirts, business shirts, pullovers and sweaters.

Girav generated 15,000 orders and 30% revenue growth in 2019.

After the success in the Netherlands, Girav is ready to launch its online store across Europe. First stop is Germany, through Girav.de, which is basically a copy of the Dutch shop. But there are some minor differences. For example, Dutch customers can order until midnight to have their order shipped the next day, while customers in Germany need to order before 2 PM.

Customers of Girav.de can pay for their shirts with AfterPay, credit card, iDeal, Giropay and the Girav Giftcard. Shipping and returns are free.
