Hermes offers new international shipping solution

European logistics service provider Hermes has announced a new international shipping solution, aimed at UK-based sole traders and small and medium-sized enterprises. Online retailers with a Hermes Business Account can now send their products to cross-border shoppers in 23 European countries.

And deliveries to Australia, China and the United States will follow next month, Post&Parcel writes. The European logistics service provider will use its own European fleet for deliveries to Germany, Austria, Italy, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain and Portugal. In these countries, they will provide several final-mile options, including access to over 36,000 ParcelShops. They will also partner with trusted third-party suppliers.

More parcels delivered to abroad

According to Mike Antwoon, Sales Director at Hermes, the depreciation of the pound (triggered from the Brexit vote last year) has led to an increasing number of foreign consumers visiting UK websites in order to find a bargain. “As a result, we have recorded a 15 percent year-on-year jump in the number of parcels we deliver to addresses abroad”, he explains. “By further enhancing our Business Account solution, we can help sole traders, independent retailers and online power sellers to take advantage of this opportunity, driving increased sales and encouraging growth.”

Aside from the aforementioned European countries, the new service can also be used for deliveries to Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Malta, Netherlands, Republic of Ireland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Sweden.
