Luxembourg develops national online shopping platform

The government council of Luxembourg has decided to develop and operate a national online shopping platform. This platform will be called “Luxembourg for shopping” and is meant for Luxembourgian wholesalers who don’t yet sell their products online.

The government council decided this one and a half week ago. The creation of an ‘Economic Interest Group’ (EIG) in this area has become inevitable in order to keep pace with the development of consumer behavior, the government explained.

It’s said that many retailers in Luxembourg don’t have the financial or logistical opportunities to run their own online sales channel. The EIG is meant to accompany interested retailers and to further promote the e-retail platform.
