Music store Bax-shop opens German online store

Dutch music store Bax-shop opened its German online store this week. It’s the second foreign expansion for the Dutch company, that also has a physical store in hometown Goes. Co-founder Jochanan Bax previously told he expects to ship 50.000 parcels to customers in the very first year Bax-shop will be active in Germany.

Bax-shop is an online store that sells musical instruments and equipment. In its home country, Bax-shop has received some well-known ecommerce and entrepreneurship awards and it’s one of the biggest and most popular online music stores. It has a physical presence (1600 square meters) in a little Dutch town called Goes and among its local online store, it has also opened an online store in France, which recorded a turnover of 2.6 million euros in its first year. Now their German store is online and an English equivalent for customers in the UK is being prepared.

Bax-shop also revealed its revenue figures for 2013. The music store saw its revenue grow with 62% to 50.3 million euros. According to its founder, this growth is thanks to the good results from their French store, the ongoing growth in the Netherlands and Belgium and the expansion of their service with same-day-delivery.

As have been told before, Bax-shop is now looking at expanding their territory to the United Kingdom. And the opening of an online store in Scandinavia might also be happening in the near future.
