Rakuten France launches loyalty program Club R Everywhere
Rakuten France has launched Club R Everywhere, an extended version of it current loyalty program Rakuten Club. With Club R Everywhere, customers from Rakuten get a 5 percent discount on purchases at partner brands, such as Nike, Expedia and Monoprix.

France is only the second market in which Japanese ecommerce giant Rakuten has introduced Club R Everywhere. Not surprising, as France is the company’s second largest market after Japan, ahead of the US and Germany.
Extended version of Rakuten Club
Two years, Rakuten launched its global loyalty program Rakuten Club, which offers Rakuten Super Points, a virtual currency that can only be used within the retail group’s ecosystem. With these points, which can be earned by buying or selling through Rakuten, customers could buy products or services with a discount. According to Rakuten, this loyalty program has 1.2 billion subscribers, including 1.2 million in France.
Already 130 brands connected
And now Rakuten Club has gotten a kind of upgrade, with the company launching Club R Everywhere. It’s basically the loyalty program as we know, but now it’s extended to external brands. Currently, there are about 130 brands and retailers from all kinds of sectors who have partnered, among them are Yves Rocher, Nike, Expedia, Booking.com, Monoprix and Galeries Lafayette.
“Since the launch of Club Everywhere a week ago, Nike, Hotels.com and Yves Rocher have been the most successful brands”, Fabien Versavau, CEO of Rakuten France, said.
Open to ecommerce SMEs
Club R Everywhere is also open to ecommerce SMEs, Rakuten claims. Physical outlets will be connected to the program in late 2019, the CEO says. At the end of that year, the ecommerce company wants to have 400 brands connected.
