Shippo enters Ireland

Shipping platform Shippo has entered Ireland with the opening of its new research and development center in Dublin. This is the company’s first office in Europe, while it already offers its services in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK. It wants to expand further internationally.

Shippo is a logistics solution provider from the US that was founded in 2013. Its platform connects online sellers, marketplaces and other platforms to shipping carriers around the world with one API and dashboard. Up until now, the company has raised 137.5 million euros. It was recently valued at 1 billion euros.

International expansion

The opening of its office in Dublin is in line with the company’s international expansion plans. It wants to grow its global workforce and expand its shipping infrastructure and carrier ecosystem to an international market. Earlier this year, Shippo introduced 7 new carriers in 5 countries, including France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK.

‘Shippo is already active in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK.’

It also partnered with Shopify, meaning that Shippo’s solution is now integrated within the Shopify platform. Another achievement of Shippo is the launch of its new product: Shippo for Platforms, which integrates the solution with ecommerce platforms and online marketplaces.

Development of tailored programs in Europe

“We serve a growing, international community of merchants who are looking for a global end-to-end shipping solution,” said Simon Kreuz, President and co-founder at Shippo. “With our European team working with our US engineering teams in building a world-class shipping service, as well as spearheading new initiatives for the European market, including platform API optimizations, carrier integrations, and building a brand new mobile app, this new location will enable us to deliver more tailored programs to our customers and partners across Europe.”
